Mobile Editor
Use Penvio’s PDF editor on mobile devices with a responsive, touch-optimized interface.
The mobile editor is available on all plans. Some advanced tools may be grouped differently on smaller screens.
Overview
Penvio automatically adapts the editor layout when you open a document on a phone or tablet. The mobile interface provides the same core editing features with a touch-friendly layout.
Mobile Layout
Header
The mobile header displays:
- Document name - tap to rename
- Menu button - opens the navigation drawer
- Download button - quick access to download the current document
- Save indicator - shows when the document has unsaved changes (dirty state)
Mobile Toolbar
The bottom toolbar replaces the desktop sidebar with grouped tool buttons:

| Markup | Highlight, underline, strikethrough, freehand drawing |
| Shapes | Rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow |
| Insert | Text box, image, stamp, sticky note |
| Zoom | Zoom in, zoom out, fit to width |
Tap a tool group to expand it and select a specific tool. Tap the active tool again to close the group.
Navigation Drawer
Tap the menu icon to open the navigation drawer, which provides access to:
- Page thumbnails for quick navigation
- Page indicator (current page / total pages)
- Close button to dismiss the drawer
Touch Gestures

| Tap | Select annotation or activate tool |
| Long press | Context menu for annotations |
Differences from Desktop
- Tool groups: Tools are organized into collapsible groups in the bottom toolbar instead of a sidebar
- Properties panel: Opens as a bottom sheet instead of a side panel
- Thumbnails: Accessible via the navigation drawer instead of a persistent sidebar
- Dialogs: Open as full-screen sheets on small screens
Supported Devices
The mobile editor works on:
- iOS: Safari 15+, Chrome
- Android: Chrome 90+, Firefox
- Tablets: Full touch support with larger tool targets
Tips
- Use landscape orientation for wider documents
- Pinch to zoom for precise annotation placement
- Use the page thumbnails in the drawer for quick navigation
- Download your work frequently on mobile connections
