Compare Document Versions

See what changed between two versions of a document.

Goal

Compare two versions side-by-side to see additions, deletions, and modifications.

Steps

Open the Document

Navigate to the document in the editor.

Open Version History

Click the History icon in the toolbar, or press Ctrl/Cmd + H.

Select First Version

Click on the version you want to compare from.

Click Compare

Click the Compare button.

Select Second Version

Choose the version to compare against (usually the current or a newer version).

Review Changes

The comparison view shows:

  • Green - Added annotations
  • Red - Removed annotations
  • Yellow - Modified annotations
  • Page changes (rotations, deletions)

Understanding the Comparison

GreenNew in the second version
RedRemoved from the first version
YellowChanged between versions

Tips

  • Compare before and after reviews to see what changed
  • Use named versions for important milestones
  • The change summary shows counts of each change type

Page-level changes like rotations and deletions are also highlighted in the comparison.
