Available field types for e-signature templates.
E-Sign features require a Pro plan or higher.
Signature Fields
Signature
Full signature field:
- Signer draws, types, or uploads signature
- Required for most documents
- Largest visual impact
Initials
Abbreviated signature:
- Typically 2-3 characters
- For initialing each page
- Smaller than full signature
Text Fields
Text
Single-line text input:
- Names, addresses, etc.
- Can set character limits
- Optional validation
Text Area
Multi-line text input:
- Comments, descriptions
- Scrollable content
- Configurable height
Email address field:
- Validates email format
- Auto-completes if known
- Pre-filled with signer’s email
Name
Full name field:
- Pre-filled with signer’s name
- Can be required
- Auto-formats
Date Fields
Date Signed
Automatically captures signing date:
- Auto-filled when signer signs
- Cannot be modified by signer
- Shows in specified format
Date
User-selectable date:
- Date picker interface
- Configurable format
- Can set date range limits
Selection Fields
Checkbox
Yes/no selection:
- Single checkbox
- Required or optional
- Custom checked value
Checkbox Group
Multiple related checkboxes:
- Select multiple options
- Group validation (require at least one)
- Aligned together
Radio Buttons
Mutually exclusive options:
- Only one can be selected
- Group of related choices
- Required or optional
Dropdown
Select from list:
- Predefined options
- Single selection
- Saves space

Attachment
File upload field:
- Signer uploads a file
- Specify allowed types
- Size limits apply
Payment
Payment capture field:
- Credit card entry
- Integration with payment processor
- Business plan only

- Read Only: Pre-filled, cannot edit
