Free Tier

The Free tier is perfect for getting started or occasional use.

Limits:

  • 3 documents maximum
  • 10 MB total storage
  • 5 MB per file
  • Basic viewing and editing

Includes:

  • PDF viewing
  • Basic text editing
  • Annotations (highlights, comments)
  • Download edited PDFs

The Free tier is great for trying out Penvio before committing to a paid plan.

Pro Tier

For individuals who need more power and flexibility.

Pricing: $19/month

Limits:

  • Unlimited documents
  • 50 GB storage
  • 100 MB per file
  • 500 OCR pages/month
  • 50 e-signatures/month

Includes everything in Free, plus:

  • OCR (text recognition)
  • Electronic signatures
  • Real-time collaboration
  • Version history (30 days)
  • Priority email support

Business Tier

For teams and organizations needing advanced features.

Pricing: $49/month

Feature Details

OCR (Optical Character Recognition)

Convert scanned documents to searchable, editable text.

  • How it works: Upload a scanned PDF or image, and OCR extracts the text
  • Accuracy: 95%+ for clear documents
  • Languages: English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, and Portuguese
  • Counting: One page = one OCR credit

E-Signatures

Legally binding electronic signatures.

  • Compliance: ESIGN Act compliant
  • Audit trail: Full signing history and timestamps
  • Counting: One signature request = one credit (unlimited signers per request)

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket)

Store documents in your own AWS S3 bucket.

  • Benefits: Data sovereignty, existing backup processes, custom retention
  • Requirements: AWS S3 bucket with appropriate IAM policies
  • Setup: Provide bucket details and we configure STS AssumeRole

Usage Tracking

Monitor your usage in the dashboard:

  1. Go to Settings > Usage
  2. View current period usage for all limits
  3. Set up alerts when approaching limits

When you reach a limit, the relevant feature is disabled until the next billing period or until you upgrade.

Upgrading and Downgrading

Upgrading

Upgrades are effective immediately:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Select a new plan
  3. Complete payment
  4. New limits apply instantly

Pro-rated charges apply for mid-cycle upgrades.

Downgrading

Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Select a lower plan
  3. Confirm the change
  4. Continue using current plan until renewal date

If you exceed the new plan’s limits, you’ll need to delete content to continue using the service.

FAQ

Can I change plans anytime? Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time.

What happens to my data if I downgrade? Your data is preserved. If you exceed limits, you won’t be able to add new content until you’re within limits.

Do unused credits roll over? No, monthly credits (OCR, signatures) reset each billing period.

Is there a discount for annual billing? Contact us about annual billing options.

Can I try Pro features before upgrading? Contact us for a trial of Pro features.
