Backgrounds

Add colors or images as page backgrounds.

Adding a Background

  1. Click DocumentBackground
  2. Choose Add
  3. Configure the background
  4. Click Apply

Background Types

Solid Color

Add a uniform color background:

  1. Select Color
  2. Choose a color from the picker
  3. Adjust opacity if needed
  4. Click Apply

Image Background

Add an image as the background:

  1. Select Image
  2. Upload your image
  3. Configure sizing and position
  4. Click Apply

Image Options

Scale

  • Fit to page: Scale to fit page dimensions
  • Actual size: Use original image dimensions
  • Custom: Set specific width/height

Position

  • Center: Center on page
  • Tile: Repeat the image
  • Stretch: Stretch to fill page
  • Custom: Specific X/Y offset

Opacity

Set background transparency:

  • 100%: Fully opaque
  • 50%: Semi-transparent
  • 10%: Very subtle

Page Range

Apply background to specific pages:

  • All pages
  • Page range: e.g., 1, 3-5
  • Odd/even pages

Use Cases

Letterhead

Add company letterhead to documents:

  1. Create or use existing letterhead image
  2. Add as background
  3. Apply to all pages or first page only

Decorative Paper

Add texture or patterns:

  1. Choose a subtle texture image
  2. Set to tile mode
  3. Reduce opacity for subtlety

Branding

Add brand colors:

  1. Choose your brand color
  2. Set low opacity (5-15%)
  3. Apply to all pages

Managing Backgrounds

Edit

  1. Click DocumentBackground
  2. Click Edit
  3. Modify settings
  4. Click Apply

Remove

  1. Click DocumentBackground
  2. Click Remove
  3. Confirm removal

Tips

  • Use low opacity so text remains readable
  • Test with both dark and light content
  • Consider printing - some backgrounds don’t print well
  • Keep file size in mind with image backgrounds
