Send for Signature
Get your first document signed using Penvio E-Sign.
E-Sign requires a Pro plan or higher. View plans
Prerequisites
- Pro plan or higher (E-Sign requires Pro)
- A PDF document to send for signature
Go to E-Sign
- From your dashboard, click E-Sign
- Or go to Create → Signature Request
Create Envelope
- Click Create Envelope
- Choose Upload Document
- Select your PDF file
Add Signers
- Click Add Signer
- Enter signer’s name
- Enter signer’s email
- Add more signers if needed
Place Signature Fields
- Select the first signer (color-coded)
- Choose Signature field
- Click on the document where they should sign
- Resize the field if needed
Add more fields:
- Date: Auto-filled when they sign
- Name: Their typed name
- Initials: For page acknowledgment
Repeat for each signer.
Add a Message
- In the message box, write instructions
- Example: “Please review and sign the attached agreement.”
- This appears in the email notification
Review and Send
- Click Preview to see signer’s view
- Verify all fields are placed correctly
- Click Send
- Confirm sending
Track Progress
- Go to E-Sign → Sent
- Find your envelope
- See status:
- Pending: Waiting for response
- Viewed: Opened but not signed
- Signed: Completed
Get the Signed Document
When all signers complete:
- You receive email notification
- Go to the envelope
- Click Download
- Get the signed PDF with audit trail
What Signers Experience
Your signer will:
- Receive email with your message
- Click link to open document
- Review the document
- Click on each field to complete
- Apply their signature
- Finish and receive their copy
