Add Signers

Configure the recipients who will sign your documents.

E-Sign features require a Pro plan or higher.

Adding Signers

Basic Information

For each signer, provide:

  • Name: Signer’s full name
  • Email: Where to send signing request

From Contacts

Add signers from your contact list:

  1. Click Add SignerFrom Contacts
  2. Search for the contact
  3. Select and add

Bulk Add

Add multiple signers at once:

  1. Click Add SignerBulk Add
  2. Paste names and emails (one per line)
  3. Format: Name, email@example.com
  4. Click Add All

Signer Roles

When using templates, assign signers to roles:

  1. Template defines roles (e.g., “Client”, “Vendor”)
  2. Each role has pre-placed fields
  3. Assign a person to each role

Signing Order

Parallel Signing

All signers receive the request simultaneously:

  • Fastest completion time
  • No dependencies between signers
  • Each signer sees others’ signatures after completion

Sequential Signing

Signers proceed in order:

  1. First signer receives request
  2. After they sign, next signer receives request
  3. Continue until all have signed

Use sequential for:

  • Approval workflows
  • When later signers need to see earlier signatures
  • Hierarchical signing

Custom Order

With sequential signing, set the order:

  1. Add all signers
  2. Drag to reorder
  3. Or set order numbers

Signer Settings

Required vs Optional

  • Required: Must sign for completion
  • Optional: Can skip without affecting completion

Access Code

Add extra security:

  1. Enable Access Code
  2. Enter a code
  3. Share code separately
  4. Signer must enter code to access

Authentication

Additional identity verification:

  • Email: Standard (must click link in email)
  • SMS: Send code via text message
  • ID Verification: Verify government ID (Enterprise)

Notifications

Configure how signers are notified:

  • Email: Default notification method
  • Language: Email language preference
  • Reminders: Auto-reminder frequency

Carbon Copy (CC)

Add recipients who receive copies but don’t sign:

  1. Click Add CC
  2. Enter name and email
  3. They receive the completed document

Tips

  • Double-check email addresses
  • Use sequential signing for approvals
  • Add access codes for sensitive documents
  • Include relevant people as CC
