Restore a Previous Version
Go back to an earlier version of your document.
Goal
Restore a document to a previous state while preserving the current version.
Steps
Open the Document
Navigate to the document in the editor.
Open Version History
Click the History icon in the toolbar, or press Ctrl/Cmd + H.
Find the Version
Browse the version list to find the version you want to restore. Use timestamps and change notes to identify the right one.
Click Restore
Click the Restore button on the version you want.
Confirm
Confirm the restore action. A new version is created with the restored content.
Restoring doesn’t delete anything — it creates a new version with the old content. You can always go back to any version.
Tips
- Compare versions first to make sure you’re restoring the right one
