Edit & Annotate
Learn to use Penvio’s editing and annotation tools.
Prerequisites
- Completed Your First Document
- A PDF document open in the editor
Part 1: Text Editing
Edit Existing Text
- Select the Text Edit tool
- Click on existing text in the PDF
- A text cursor appears
- Make your changes
- Click outside to finish
Add New Text
- Select the Text tool (T)
- Click where you want the text
- Type your content
- Format using the toolbar (font, size, color)
Part 2: Markup Tools
Highlighting
- Select the Highlight tool
- Click and drag over text
- Text is highlighted in yellow
- Change color in properties panel
Drawing Shapes
- Select Rectangle or Ellipse tool
- Click and drag to draw
- Adjust color and border in properties
Freehand Drawing
- Select the Pencil tool
- Draw freely on the document
- Adjust pen color and thickness
Part 3: Comments
Add a Sticky Note
- Select the Sticky Note tool
- Click where you want the note
- Type your comment
- Click outside to close
Reply to Comments
- Click an existing note
- Click Reply
- Add your response
View All Comments
- Click Comments in the sidebar
- See all comments listed
- Click any to navigate to it
Part 4: Page Operations
Rotate a Page
- Go to thumbnail view (sidebar)
- Right-click a page
- Select Rotate → 90° Clockwise
Reorder Pages
- In thumbnail view
- Click and drag a page
- Drop in new position
Delete a Page
- Right-click a page thumbnail
- Select Delete
- Confirm deletion
Part 5: Save and Share
Save Your Work
- Click File → Save
- Or Ctrl/Cmd + S
- Changes are saved
Share with Someone
- Click Share
- Enter their email
- Choose permission (View, Comment, Edit)
- Click Send
