Field Placement

Position and configure fields in your e-signature templates.

E-Sign features require a Pro plan or higher.

Placing Fields

Click to Place

  1. Select a field type from the toolbar
  2. Click on the document where you want the field
  3. Field appears at clicked location
  4. Drag to reposition if needed

Drag to Size

  1. Select a field type
  2. Click and drag on the document
  3. Release to set size
  4. Field fills the drawn area

Field Properties

Position

  • X, Y: Coordinates from top-left
  • Page: Which page the field is on

Size

  • Width: Field width in pixels
  • Height: Field height in pixels
  • Auto-size: Fit to content

Appearance

  • Border: Visible border around field
  • Background: Fill color
  • Font size: For text fields

Required vs Optional

Required Fields

  • Signer must complete before proceeding
  • Marked with red asterisk
  • Validation prevents skipping

Optional Fields

  • Signer can skip
  • No asterisk marking
  • Useful for additional information

Field Alignment

Snap to Grid

Enable grid snapping for precise alignment:

  1. Click ViewShow Grid
  2. Fields snap to grid lines
  3. Adjust grid size in settings

Align Tools

Align multiple selected fields:

  • Align Left/Right/Center
  • Align Top/Bottom/Middle
  • Distribute Horizontally/Vertically

Copy Alignment

Copy field positions across pages:

  1. Select fields
  2. Click Copy
  3. Go to target page
  4. Click PasteSame Position

Multi-Page Templates

  • Use page thumbnails in sidebar
  • Or page navigation controls

Page-Specific Fields

Fields are tied to specific pages. Navigate to each page to add its fields.

Copy Fields Across Pages

  1. Select fields on one page
  2. Copy (Ctrl/Cmd + C)
  3. Navigate to target page
  4. Paste (Ctrl/Cmd + V)

Tab Order

Set the order signers move through fields:

  1. Click Edit Tab Order
  2. Fields show numbers
  3. Click fields in desired order
  4. Or drag to reorder in list

Tips

  • Place signature fields near signature lines
  • Keep fields within printable margins
  • Test on different screen sizes
  • Use consistent spacing
  • Consider scanning layouts for best field placement
